George Raine, Chronicle Staff Writer

Sunday, March 1, 2009

As you might expect, the industry is still worried.

While there have been record almond crops for the past three years, and new markets have always materialized, California's largest agricultural export is facing an unprecedented array of challenges.

Almonds found to help regulate appetite, caloric intake

Wednesday, October 25, 2006 by: Jessica Fraser        almonds

(NaturalNews) Daily consumption of almonds may trigger feelings of satiety and help reduce overall calorie intake, according to new research by scientists from Purdue University.

Dieters often find it difficult to regulate their appetite, but a new study recently presented at the North American Association for the Study of Obesity's annual meeting indicates that almonds may help stop unhealthy snacking by enhancing feelings of fullness between meals.

You can help the bees by becoming a backyard beekeeper or by keeping a few more hives

or by helping someone else become a beekeeper.  Did you know that there are half as many

beekeepers as there were 20 years ago?   It is without a doubt the most fascinating hobby you

could possibly have.   For more on this and viewing the Silence of the Bees which was aired

on PBS on October 28th just visit the following link.
